Peer Mentoring Program By consent of the membership at the October meeting at the Sawmill Inn in Richfield, a Peer Mentoring Program is being established for Wisconsin Chapter members. The idea came from a discussion at the last Officer's meeting. There are so many unshared photographic skills among the members, it is a shame not to put them to use. It was felt that having a forum to disseminate them would help stimulate the sharing of skills among members in any setting deemed appropriate. It could be electronic communication, like emailing one another or it could be meeting one on one in person with another member or a small group. The possibilities are virtually limitless. The structure for this program is to use a list of skills or talents that are either available to be shared or desired to be learned. The list would be circulated among the membership in hard copy format and electronically on the website. Attached with this newsletter is a form to be completed and returned at the next meeting. Please look at your talents and skills and consider listing them for possible sharing with someone who wants to improve their skills and talents. Sign up for this program and see if your photography doesn’t improve. I find that having to explain a process or technique forces me to more thoroughly understand and internalize it. This helps me to be a better photographer. Sharing helps not only the receiver by the provider as well. Please join in the sharing whether you be a mentor or a mentee. Thanks for your consideration. |
