Wisconsin Chapter
Photographic Society of America
| The Wisconsin Chapter has sponsored the Milwaukee Public High Schools Youth Photography
Showcase since 1995. It was begun largely under the vision and
leadership of Audrienne Eder who secured space for the
exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Youth Showcase
has continued to be an annual event for Milwaukee Area High School Students. "Life in My City" has been the annual theme.
The annual award ceremonies have been well received with good representation
from public and private schools in the city of Milwaukee. Photos have been
judged and matted by PSA members and for the last eleven years have been
displayed in Milwaukee City Hall Rotunda. All present including teachers,
parents of students and City Hall representatives agree that this is a great
venue for young photographers to be recognized for their photographic efforts.
Young photographers have been given prize money thanks to the generous donations
of Gerald Emmerich, FPSA,
EPSA & The
Wisconsin Circuit in care of Jeff Tamms, APSA, PPSA.
In kind contributions have been provided over the years from vendors such
as the Palette Shop and A & S Framing LLP in
Hubertus, WI. The Youth Showcase is currenly being directed by Chair Richard Knisbeck. Other committed members have persistently assisted with the many steps it takes to put together this artistic display in the spring of each year. If interested in becoming part of this worthwhile activity, please contact either Richard or Peter. |
