Sturgeon Bay area – The Ship Canal Lighthouse/Coast Guard lighthouse. When going to this lighthouse after you turn on Utah St. from Hwy 57 there is a small creek on the right where you can see waterbirds and other birds, parking right past the creek.

Kangaroo Lake – between Jacksonport and Baileys Harbor – there is a causeway that you can get to from Hwy 57 turning onto Cty E, there is parking along here. You can see waterfowl, egrets, blue heron, eagles etc.

Right by our hotel is a spot just off Ridges Road by the Yacht Club. There are is an old fishing shed with buoys, old boats etc.

Europe Bay Rd – off Hwy 42 South of Gills Rock – Barns, farm that sometimes has baby goats (Please don’t pet the goats or touch the fence). Also, wildflowers alongside of road.

The Clearing – 12171 Garrett Bay Rd Folk School Historic stone and log buildings, forest and meadows with wildflowers hiking trails. Offers hiking tours on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3pm (free).

Edgewood Orchard Galleries – 4140 Peninsula Players Rd. Art gallery housed in a restored fruit barn and has a unique award winning sculpture garden along with wildflowers and birds as you walk through it.

Door County has a visitor center in Sturgeon Bay (just passed McDonalds on the right).  It is open 24/7 and has lots of literature on things to do along with maps you can pick up.

PLEASE NOTE there is road construction on Hwy 42, after the Hwy 57 intersection through Egg Harbor.  They do have detours posted.
